Optimised, harmonised system

The unilateral joint system from Ottobock provides you with a modern, harmonised and integrated leg orthosis fitting in case of paresis or paralysis of the leg musculature. It consists of a knee joint and ankle joint.

Depending on your individual physical condition, the unilateral joint system makes it possible to use only one knee and ankle joint respectively. This makes the orthosis especially light and comfortable to wear.

The ankle joint has a foot lifting assist and can be individually adapted to your needs by your orthotist thanks to its numerous adjustment possibilities.

Your orthotist can also equip the knee joint with an additional switch, so that you can set it to an open position for a limited time, for example to train on a therapy bike.

The ankle joint has a foot lifting assist and can be individually adapted to your needs thanks to its various adjustment possibilities.

Temporary switch

Your orthotist can install the switch in the knee joint if required. When you set the knee joint to an open position for a limited time, you can for example ride a therapy bike.

Locking mechanism

The lock lever makes it quick and easy to release and lock the joint with only one hand. A pull-release cable for unlocking can be installed if required.

Comfortable to wear

The joints can be used unilaterally up to 110kg of a body weight which makes the orthosis particularly light, slim and comfortable to wear.

Titanium: particularly lightweight

The joint system is also available in an ultra-lightweight titanium version.

Functionality

The unilateral joint system consists of a locked knee joint with wedge lock and a multifunction ankle joint. While the knee joint is permanently locked, it can be unlocked using a lock lever or pull cable, for example when you want to sit down. The joint engages automatically when you get up and fully stretch your leg.

The ankle joint has a foot lifting assist with nine different possible combinations of spring, stop and spring stop. This gives your orthotist a large range of adjustments to your individual needs.

FAQ

Can I shower with the orthosis?

No, but Ottobock's Aqualine orthosis system is a waterproof walking device designed especially for wet conditions. All of the components used are designed for contact with water.
