Silicone Hand Orthosis

Service Fabrication offers customized wrist, thumb saddle joint orthoses, and finger splints.

Silicone products are hygienic and easy to clean. They can be washed with soap and water. If very soiled, they can be cleaned by boiling.

• For fabricating a silicone hand orthosis, Otto Bock requires a model made of the hand in a functional position. The model must be made of a special porous plaster.
• Models for wrist and thumb saddle joint orthoses must correspond to the patient‘s measurements.
• Models for finger splints must be reduced by to 5%. The position of the finger must be corrected.
• The proximal and distal orthosis rims as well as position of closures and reinforcements must be marked on the plaster positive. Finger splints are fabricated without closures.
• The attached measurement form allows to define silicone hardnesses, color preferences and reinforcement areas.
