Silicone Toe Prosthesis

Silicone toe prostheses harmonize the gait pattern and contribute to physiological roll-over of the foot.

The fixation of the prosthesis onto the residual limb is ensured by surface adhesion and full contact fit of the edges.

The customized socket design allows for a close fit, even pressure distribution and compression of the residual limb.

Due to the thin-walled socket design, patients can wear regular, non-orthopedic shoes. Silicone Service Fabrication offers a standard and a functional fitting version.

Silicone products are easy to clean and are hygienic. They can be washed with soap and water. If very soiled, they can also be cleaned by boiling.

• For fabrication of the trial prosthesis, Otto Bock requires a plaster negative of the residual limb and a plaster positive of the contralateral side.
• In addition, Otto Bock needs four photos of both feet from different perspectives.
• The trial prosthesis may also be fabricated by the workshop.
• The trial prosthesis can be tested by the patient for approximately 4 weeks. During that time, it can be modified by the prosthetist if necessary.
• Information about the skin color of the patient is required for the color design of the prosthesis. The Color stipulation sheet or the Color stipulation kit will assist in determining the color.
• After receiving the plaster casts, trial prosthesis and Color stipulation, the final prosthesis is fabricated.
• The definitive silicone prosthesis is sent to the prosthetist.
