The country needs innovations

Ottobock supports the initiative DU2012

„Deutschland Unternehmerland 2012“ (DU2012)

Together with 30 other companies and media partners, Ottobock is supporting the initiative "Deutschland Unternehmerland 2012" (DU2012) for jobs and company founders. The aim of the Stiftung der deutschen Wirtschaft für Arbeit und Beschäftigung (SWAB - German business initiative for work and employment) is to allow founders, young businesses and innovation projects to network through the initiative and support them for the long-term with capital and specialists.

"As a medium-sized business in a demanding technical environment, we know the importance and the value of innovations. They require not just technical know-how and creativity, but an entrepreneurial mindset in the employees too. This competency has to be supported and embedded in the company – as a basis for the success of Ottobock and to strengthen Germany as a location", explained Roland Hehn, head of Human Resources, about the engagement of the company.

For the first time as part of the DU2012, the "German business award for entrepreneurs" will be awarded. For up to 9 months, the receivers of the prize will be given EUR 4,000 founding money per month. For growing companies and innovation projects there is a total of EUR 250 million available from companies in the sponsorship consortium. The application deadline for the sponsorship prize is 11th March 2012. The finalists will be chosen by the SWAB commission of experts, which is made up of representatives from banks, businesses, venture capital companies, associations and foundations.
