17B66 — A Multitalent

There are many different types of ankle joints available for patient fittings, many of which are made for specific functions and which therefore have a correspondingly narrow application spectrum. The 17B66 solves this problem.

Many kinds of ankle joints are available for the fitting of your patients. While each version has the advantage of being specially designed for one distinct function, it also has the disadvantage of being limited to that one function. Adapting these ankle joints to changing patients' requirements or even just fine-tuning a joint is generally very labor-intensive, often to the extent of requiring complete replacements. The 17B66 solves this problem.

… here comes the Multitalent

The new 17B66 multitalent provides you with a new ankle joint that has multifunctional fitting possibilities. Nine different variations can be continuously adjusted and combined,
allowing for optimal adjustment to the patient at any time. The time-consuming tasks of exchanging, improvising or grinding in order to achieve the desired function is behind you!

All in one …

High range of motion
The average radius of motion of a healthy person’s ankle joint in everyday life is about 40°. The System Joint’s construction allows for a range of motion of 50°! Within the 50° angle, the joint’s range of motion allows for continuous adjustment by means of springs, stops or spring stops. Plus there’s no need to alter the head of the foot stirrup!

Nine variations

By combining springs, stops and spring stops in the dorsal or plantar joint channel, nine functional variations can be implemented. Thanks to these combination possibilities, the 17B66 Ankle Joint can be continuously adapted at any time to comply with patient requirements.

The foot stirrups …
Four foot stirrups are available for the fabrication of different types of orthoses.

17B113 Short foot stirrup for thermoplastic technique

17B114 Forked foot stirrup for lamination resin technique

17B115 Shoe stirrup for 17F35=L/R 150

17B116=* Double shoe stirrup available from 180 to 300 mm in increments of 20 mm

Technical data

The 17B66 is delivered complete with springs, stops and spring stops and is available in two different System bar widths. In the 16 mm and 20 mm variants, only the connection widths differ from each other. All other dimensions are identical.
